1. Terms
1.1 These terms set out the contractual terms which apply between Defence Academy Chennai (“DAC”) and students (“Students”) in relation to the courses and/or academic programmes and physical training offered here (the “Course”).
1.2 Please be informed that the students should ensure they read the Terms and Conditions very carefully before signing and submitting their application for admission to Defence Academy Chennai.
1.3 Once an enrolment is accepted by DAC, these Terms and Conditions become legally binding. All students agree to be bound by the regulations, policies and procedures of DAC.
2. Services
2.1 The company reserves the right to change details of its advertised services, courses, facilities and course dates where circumstances beyond the academy’s control necessitate such changes or where the number of enrolments is insufficient to operate a course viably.
2.2 In the unlikely event that DAC is unable to deliver your course in full, you may be offered enrolment on a suitable alternative course at no extra cost. You have the right to choose whether you would prefer to cancel the course (terms and conditions apply), or to accept a place on another course. A minimum of eight students are required for any course to run. If there are fewer than eight students, alternative arrangements may be made. This may mean reduced hours, or the class may be merged with another class.
3. Course Entry Requirements
3.1 All courses at DAC have entry requirements including minimum age, Height, Medical Conditions, Certificate copies if required for application.
3.2 If any information provided by the student in the submitted application is incorrect, DAC reserves the rights to make the necessary changes to the students’ enrolment at the students’ expense and if necessary, ask the candidate to leave their course without any refunds.
4. Changes to Enrolments
4.1 Changes made to confirmed enrolment or course admission will lead to a Rs.1000/- administration fee.
5. Academic Progression
5.1 Students are accepted into DAC on the strict understanding that progression through the course is conditional upon satisfactory attendance and discipline maintained throughout the course.
5.2 Students are formally assessed on a regular basis. The assessment will take into consideration: Physical Fitness, Sectional test results, attendance, discipline and commitment to study.
5.3 Students who do not meet the assessment criteria will not be allowed to continue with the course until they fulfil their expectations. Students will be offered an extended course once we deem them ready or face suspension/expulsion from DAC without a refund.
6.1 DAC reserves the right to change/cancel an advertised course.
6.2 In the event of a course being cancelled by DAC, the student will be offered an alternative course and/or course dates. If the student chooses not to accept this alternative, in cases where the course has not begun, they will receive a full refund for the course. If the student has already started the course, they will receive a refund covering the remaining period of the course.
6.3 DAC reserves the right to adapt students’ timetables.
6.4 DAC strives to ensure a diverse nationality mix; however, this is subject to admissions from time to time.
6.5 DAC reserves the right to change any teacher in any class/course without prior information.
6.6 DAC closely monitors students’ progression and if the academic team feels that the students’ academic level is not suitable for the course they have booked; DAC reserves the right to move the student to a suitable level/course.
6.7 Students must obtain an average attendance rate of 80% or above (Physical and theory) by the end of their course to obtain a free extension of course/merit listed students.
6.8 If any student does not pay the fee on the due date as mentioned, he/she shall be stopped from attending the classes. It is therefore, in the interest of the parents & students that they should deposit the fee on the due dates mentioned.
